Tim Dorney joined PMC in 2014. Dr. Dorney started his technical career in 1988, working in product development, design, and advanced architecture of semiconductor DRAM memories. After ten years in electronic design, he left to complete his doctoral research, which focused on a new imaging technique in the THz spectrum that was previously uninvestigated. Subsequently, Dr. Dorney joined Rosenthal & Osha L.L.P. (now Osha Liang LLP) and was responsible for drafting and prosecuting patent applications for clients including Sun Microsystems and NASA. Prior to joining PMC, he worked for over a decade as a Patent Licensing Associate for Texas Instruments Incorporated. During that time,

he was responsible for the assertion and defense of patents in technical fields including memory, analog circuits, processors, and digital systems. He has experience working with licensees in Japan, Asia Pacific Region, North America, and Europe.

Dr. Dorney is licensed to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as a Patent Agent. He is an inventor on seven U.S. patents and has written numerous journal and conference papers.

Dr. Dorney holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University, a M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and Applied Physics from Case Western Reserve University, and a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Rice University.
